Before real estate, I spent 20 years in IT, working in European banks.
 

Today, I bring the same approach from my IT and banking years into real estate: analyse the information, understand the bigger picture, consider the risks, and help you make a decision you can be comfortable with.
 

My own property journey

My journey into real estate actually started in my 20s, when I was looking forward to having my own little bachelorette pad.
 

Back then, there were no online property portals and definitely no scrolling through property listings in bed.
 

My daily ritual was the newspaper classified ads. Yes, actual newspapers.
 

I had to research everything myself — from working out what I could afford and calculating the taxes, to walking into different banks to find out about their loan packages. It helped that my office was in the financial district, so I could pop into a few banks during lunch.
 

There was no property app to do the research for me. No instant mortgage calculators. No Whatsapp-ing a property agent. Just a lot of phone calls, asking questions, doing the maths and figuring things out along the way.
 

Eventually, I bought my very first property before I turned 30.
 

A few years later, I upgraded to a bigger new-launch unit.

Another few years on, when I started my own family, there was another round of selling and buying properties. At one point, I even rented a place when getting my child into a particular primary school became a priority.
 

Looking back, those early years of my property journey - when I pretty much had to figure everything out myself - taught me more than just the mechanics of buying and selling property.

They taught me to do my homework, ask questions, look at the numbers and not be afraid to take my time before making a big decision.

Most importantly, I learnt that property decisions are rarely just about the property. They are often about where you are in life, what matters to you, and what you are trying to achieve.
